Bar European Group (BEG), the Commercial Bar Association (COMBAR), the Criminal Bar Association (CBA), the London Common Law and Commercial
Bar Association (LCLCBA) and the Technology and Construction Bar Association (TECBAR) have joined forces with the Bar Council’s International Committee to offer their members of seven years’ Call or less, who are in employed or self-employed practice, financial assistance to participate in international legal events and conferences of their choice, taking place before the end of 2011, which they can demonstrate will contribute to their professional development and legal practice.
The programme began in 2009 and in 2010 11 junior barristers were awarded grants and participated in conferences, seminars and internships in Greece, Portugal, Vancouver, the USA, the United Arab Emirates and France.
This year’s application deadlines are 5pm on 27 May or 30 September. One application round already took place in February.
