R v Childs (aka Bruce Greenfield)

Criminal law – Appeal. The Court of Appeal, Criminal Division, dismissed an application to appeal out of time made by John Henry Childs. Childs had pleaded guilty in 1979 to six murders committed between 1974 and 1978. The court held that there had been no clear and compelling medical evidence to show that his confession and pleas had been the result of a personality disorder.
