Principal Crown Counsel (Crime)

Anguilla is a beautiful British Overseas Territory Island located within the Caribbean Leeward Islands. The Attorney General (AG) is seeking exceptional candidates to join Chambers to lead the criminal team and strengthen the civil team.

Principal Crown Counsel (Crime)

This appointment is intended to be transitioned to the first Director to lead an independent Department of Public Prosecution. Subject to the general directions of the AG they are responsible for the conduct and leadership of all criminal matters, appearing in the more complex cases in courts, supervising the criminal team within chambers and working with strategic stakeholders. The post requires a minimum of twelve (12) years’ post-qualification experience in significant criminal litigation in courts of unlimited jurisdiction, with at least five (5) years at a senior management level. The ability to prepare and conduct cases at appellate level would be an asset.
