The Bar of England and Wales is increasingly well represented at this Conference, which brings together more than 5,000 international practitioners.
The Bar Council has been encouraging members for a number of years to take advantage of the significant opportunities to network at this Conference, which is attended by around 500 English solicitors and law firms from key jurisdictions requiring English law consultancy services which the Bar is well placed to provide.
The Bar Council launched the latest edition of its ‘Barristers in the international legal market’ brochure at the Conference. This brochure focuses on why and how international clients and businesses can instruct barristers in England and Wales.
To promote the profession’s international practice the Bar Council hosted a networking reception jointly with the Bar Councils of Ireland, the Bar Council of Northern Ireland and the Faculty of Advocates. The reception provided an opportunity for our members to meet with delegates attending the IBA and an opportunity to discuss effective ways of working together.
