Last year, the Bar Council organised a very successful presence of the Bar at the Annual Conference of the International Bar Association
(IBA) in Madrid. Through the excellent support from many chambers and from COMBAR, we were able to significantly raise the profile of the Bar among what is now the largest gathering of international practitioners in the world.
It is therefore an ideal event for barristers with an interest in promoting their international practice. For this year’s conference the Bar Council’s International team will again organise a stall, a promotional brochure and a networking reception for chambers and individual practitioners. In May we wrote to all chambers inviting participation.
The benefits you gain from participating are as follows:
The Brochure will contain a section in which participating chambers can advertise. We are offering all chambers half a page at £350. You
would need to submit your final advert as per the specifications on the Bar Council website no later than 31 July. For last year’s brochure please see the Bar Council website at:
www.barcouncil.org.uk/aboutthebarcouncil/international.
Advertising in the Brochure will also entitle you to up to 5 free tickets for the networking reception and to nominate 10 invitees to the reception. The reception will cater for a minimum of 150 guests, but the more chambers participate the bigger the event will be! If you are interested, please contact Rukaiya Bhegani at RBhegani@barcouncil.org.uk or on 0207 611 1357.
