Small IP Claims
A new small claims track was introduced at the Patents County Court on 1 October to deal with low-value and uncomplicated intellectual property claims.

Holders of copyright, trade mark and design rights will be able to pursue claims worth up to £5,000 at an informal hearing and without the need for legal representation. This implements one of the recommendations of Professor Ian Hargreaves in his report, ‘Digital Opportunity: an independent review of IP and growth’, which was published in May 2011.
