Mr Justice Wilkie has been appointed as a Commissioner of the Judicial Appointments Commission. Wilkie J will serve a five-year period from 1 April 2012, and could be re-appointed for up to five years after that.

He has been a judge of the High Court, Queen’s Bench Division, since 2004, and was a Presiding Judge of the North Eastern Circuit between 2007 and 2010. He was a Circuit Judge between 1997 and 2004, and a Law Commissioner between 2000 and 2004. He was also a Recorder between 1995 and 1997.
