Participants must be are of seven years’ Call or less and in self-employed or employed practice. Applicants must demonstrate that the funded event will contribute to their professional development and legal practice, and the event must take place before the end of 2012. The Criminal Bar Association, Commercial Bar Association, Family Law Bar Association, London Common Law and Commercial Bar Association, Personal Injury Bar Association, Technology and Construction Bar Association and the Northern Circuit are participating and co-funding in this year’s programme, along with the Bar Council Scholarships Trust. The cost of participating in such the events is shared equally between the applicant, their SBA or Circuit and the Trust. The grant programme thus funds up to two-thirds of the cost of participating in an international legal event.

The third and final application deadline for the 2012 grant programme is 17:00 on 7 September.
