Following two successful missions by the Bar Council to the IBA Annual Conferences in Madrid 2009 and Vancouver 2010, attended by increasing numbers of barristers, the Bar Council is encouraging the profession to attend this year’s IBA Conference in Dubai, where we will again organise a stall in the exhibition area and a networking reception.
The stall will feature the brochure “Barristers in the International Legal Market” which explains to international professional and lay clients the advantages of instructing barristers. We will in the coming weeks write to all chambers to encourage them to advertise in this brochure. In return chambers will be able to invite contacts to our networking reception, as well as received copies of the Brochure which will also be used at numerous other promotional events over the next 12 months. The IBA is increasingly recognised as one of the key networking events for those seeking to develop their international practice. We encourage members to
pencil the conference dates free into their diaries. There may also be an opportunity to take part in a seminar and networking event in Abu Dhabi or Qatar following the conference. Please look out for announcements.
