BSB session at Bar Conference on 5 November

The Bar Standards Board will be holding a morning session at the Bar Conference on 5 November at the Hilton London Metropole, Edgware Road. To complement the overall Bar Conference theme of ‘A modern Bar in a modern market’, the Bar Standard Board’s session at the Conference will discuss entity regulation and more specifically the issues raised in the entity regulation consultation. The talk will detail:

  • various restrictions the BSB intends to put in place around entity regulation
  • how the BSB intends to differentiate itself from other regulators like the CLC and SRA
  • the permitted services entities will be able to offer
  • relaxing the prohibition on litigation, and
  • possible education and training impacts for the profession.
The session will consist of a panel discussion and a Q&A component, which will include the wider audience. By attending this session barristers will be better informed and able to contribute to the shape of the new regulatory environment.
