Police – Assault on constable in execution of duty. The Court of Appeal, Civil Division allowed the appeal of the appellant Chief Constable against a finding that one of his police officers had used unreasonable force in using his taser for a further six seconds over the recommended time use. The court agreed that he had not intended to keep his finger on the trigger after the initial five second burst, and had been distracted by a possible attack. To hold otherwise was to set the bar too high.
