Employment – Unfair dismissal. The Employment Appeal Tribunal (the EAT) dismissed the employee's appeal against the employment tribunal's decision to refuse him relief from the sanction of the earlier dismissal of his claim for unfair dismissal for non-compliance with an unless order. The employee had brought the claim following his dismissal from his employment as a priest, due to alleged misconduct. The EAT held that the tribunal had demonstrably carried out the requisite balancing exercise and had adequately explained why it had reached the conclusion it had.
