Conway v Secretary of State for Justice

Criminal law – Suicide. The claimant was granted permission to appeal against the Divisional Court's decision, dismissing his judicial review proceedings for a declaration, under s 4(2) of the Human Rights Act 1998, that s 2(1) of the Suicide Act 1961 was incompatible with his rights under art 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights. The Court of Appeal, Civil Division, held that the grounds of appeal should be considered by the full court.
