European Union – 'Brexit'. The Inner House of the Court of Session's interlocutor, requesting a preliminary ruling from the Court of Justice of the European Union on the interpretation of art 50 of the Treaty on European Union, had not constituted a final judgment for the purposes of allowing an appeal under s 40 of the Court of Session Act 1988. Accordingly, the Supreme Court refused the appellant Secretary of State's application for permission to appeal.
