Dowling v Bennett Griffin

Solicitor – Negligence. The Court of Appeal, Civil Division held that the judge had not been wrong in holding that liability against the defendant solicitors had not been established, in circumstances where the necessary element of causation of loss had not been established. The claimants had contended that the solicitors had been negligent in their handling of a counter-claim where it had transpired that the defendant in that claim had not been covered by professional indemnity insurance.
