Personal Injury: Quantum case. Clinical negligence. Diagnosis. Head injuries. Psychiatric and psychological damage. PSLA of £120,000. The NHS failed to diagnose for over three years that the claimant suffered from acromegalic gigantism caused by a tumour on her pituitary gland. As a result, the claimant had exceeded the expected rate of growth and height. She underwent some non-invasive treatment which was unsuccessful. She then underwent a surgical procedure for the removal of the tumour; however, it was not possible to remove all of it and there remains a possibility that it may become aggressive and re-grow.
