WZ (China) v Secretary of State for the Home Department

Immigration – Deportation. The Court of Appeal, Civil Division, dismissed the appellant Chinese national's appeal against the decision of the Upper Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum Chamber) (the UT), allowing the respondent Secretary of State's appeal against the determination of the First-tier Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum Chamber) (the FTT), which had allowed his appeal against the deportation order made against him. The FTT had failed to give due weight to the strength of the public interest in deportation; the UT had correctly done so.
