Family proceedings – Orders in family proceedings. The Court of Appeal, Civil Division, in allowing a mother's appeal against care orders made in respect of her four children and placement orders made in respect of the youngest two, held that the judge's decision could not stand because the option of care by the children's maternal grandmother had not been fully explored and there was not a sufficient foundation for ruling her out as a potential carer for the children. The care and placement orders were set aside, and the case remitted for a fresh welfare hearing.
