Insurance – Claim. The claimant insurance company obtained damages for deceit on the grounds that the defendant had fraudulently represented to the claimant that his Range Rover motor car had been in collision with a Peugeot motor car driven by M who had been insured by the claimant. The Queen's Bench Division held that on the evidence, the court was able to have the required very high level of confidence that the claimant's allegation was true and there was no doubt as to what had happened.
