Coroner – Inquest. The Divisional Court dismissed the claimant's application for judicial review of the defendant coroner's decision that he had no obligation to conduct an investigation, pursuant to art 2 of the European Convention on Human Rights (art 2), into the death of her father, a serving prisoner. The art 2 procedural obligation would not arise in any case where it was established that the death arose from natural causes and there was no reason to believe that the state had failed to protect the life of the prisoner in question.
