Taskiran v Secretary of State for the Home Department

Immigration – Detention. The claimant's immigration detention pending his deportation since 16 December 2016, when the custodial term of his most recent sentence came to an end, was not unlawful. The Divisional Court, in dismissing the claimant's application for judicial review, held that the point had not yet been reached where there was no realistic prospect of removal within a time which was reasonable.
