Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy v Naqaweh and another

Company – Director. The Secretary of State's application for an order disqualifying the defendants from acting as company directors succeeded. The Chancery Division held that the offences for which the defendants had been convicted in Sweden had been serious. They had involved the criminal misuse of limited liability companies. It was plain that the public required protection from people who indulged in such criminal activities. The first defendant was disqualified for 15 years, and the second defendant was disqualified for 13 years.
