Sanusi v General Medical Council

Medical practitioner – Disciplinary proceedings. Guidance was given on the duties of those involved in cases in which a professional, facing serious disciplinary charges including a charge of dishonesty, did not attend in person. The Administrative Court, in dismissing the appellant's appeal against the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service's decision ordering his name be erased from the medical register, found that the tribunal's factual error would not have made a difference if it had seen relevant evidence.
