Building contract – Limitation. The claimants brought claims, alleging professional negligence and breach of contract concerning quantity surveying and project management services provided to them by the defendants in respect of building works. The defendants sought to strike-out the claims on the ground that they were statute-barred. The Technology and Construction Court held that, in respect of the first defendant, the claimants were entitled to rely on standstill agreements made between the parties, which it construed as having the effect of suspending (not extending) time, such that the claims against the first defendant were not statute-barred.
