Re W (A Child)

Child – Adoption. The Court of Appeal, Civil Division, held that the judge, by relying on legally flawed opinions of the children's guardian and an independent social worker, had erred in dismissing an application for an adoption order and making a special guardianship order in favour the child's grandparents, where the flawed approach of the social worker and guardian was that the child had a right to be brought up by her family.
