Legal aid – Expert evidence. Decisions were made with regard to the apportionment and rate of two medical experts instructed in care order proceedings. The Family Court held that the fees of the experts would be equally shared between the local authority and the children's guardian. However, an application would need to be made to the Legal Aid Agency to see if the legally-aided proportion of the higher than allowable fee of one of the experts, a consultant neuroradiologist, would be paid in full.
