Damages – Personal injury. The Queen's Bench Division held that the defendant hospital had been liable to compensate the claimant for injury she suffered after the hospital had failed to inform her that she had chlamydia such that she only received treatment after one year of the defendant testing her for chlamydia. The court ruled that although the defendant had not been liable for future losses, it was liable to pay a total of £68,742.38, which consisted of damages for pain, suffering and loss of amenity, loss of earnings, care and assistance, prescriptions charges and interest.
