Sentence – Drug offence. The Court of Appeal, Criminal Division, in dismissing the defendant prisoner's appeal against sentence for drug offences, held that 'street dealing' was a term of art, whereby the supply did not need to take place on a street in order to be 'street dealing'. The essence of street dealing was that it involved selling directly to users. A person engaged in that activity was a 'street dealer', even if they were operating within prison walls, just as they would be if they were operating outside prison, on the street.
