Criminal law – Joint enterprise. Two cases were heard together as the grounds raised related to the decision of the Supreme Court in R v Jogee ([2016] 2 All ER 1). In addition, the second case raised issues relating to the trial of young defendants in the Crown Court. All applications for leave to appeal were dismissed. Among other things, the Court of Appeal, Criminal Division, confirmed that the sentence of detention at Her Majesty's Pleasure, as a mandatory indeterminate sentence, was not incompatible with the European Convention on Human Rights.
