R v Denham and another

Criminal evidence – Conviction as evidence of commission of offence. The Court of Appeal, Criminal Division, upheld the convictions of both the defendants for offences including conspiracy to sexually assault a child under 13 and conspiracy to rape a child, in circumstances where the judge had admitted as evidence the guilty pleas of their co-accused. The jury had been entitled to consider the evidence against S and form its own view about it when reaching its verdict.
