R (on the application of Unaenergy Group Holding Pte Ltd and others) v Director of the Serious Fraud Office

Company – Investigation by Serious Fraud Office. The Administrative Court dismissed the claimants' application for judicial review of the decision of the defendant Serious Fraud Office to issue a letter of request (the LOR) to authorities in Monaco for assistance in dealing with allegations of corruption. The court held that, among other things, the SFO had not been under a duty to the claimants to comply with a 'heightened procedural obligation' when issuing the LOR, and the issuing of the LOR had not constituted an unlawful fishing expedition.
