R (on the application of Shote) v Secretary of State for the Home Department

Immigration – Detention. The claimant's immigration detention between 30 March and 2 May 2017 had not been unlawful on the basis that the defendant Secretary of State should not have exercised her power of immigration removal because it was apparent she would not be able to effect removal within a reasonable time. Accordingly, the Administrative Court dismissed the claimant's application for judicial review of the legality of her immigration detention.
