R (on the application of Nelson) v Parole Board of England and Wales

Practice – Striking out. The Administrative Court struck out the claimant's application for judicial review, complaining that there was undue procedural delay in the listing of a Parole Board hearing, and that his rights under art 5 of the European Convention on Human Rights and under the common law had been infringed. The claim was moribund and it was clear that the court's only sensible response was to strike out the claim.
