Legal aid funding not available for European Court of Human Rights applications – . The Administrative Court held that solicitors who prepared applications to the European Court of Human Rights (the ECtHR) did not provide services relating to the law of England and Wales. Further, the law of the European Convention on Human Rights administered and applied by the ECtHR was not relevant for determining any issue relating to the law of England and Wales. Accordingly, the Legal Aid Agency had been right to refuse the claimant solicitors' claims for such work.
