R (on the application of MK Law Solicitors Ltd) v Lord Chancellor

Legal aid – Criminal cases. The Administrative Court quashed the decision of the defendant Lord Chancellor, through the Legal Aid Agency (the LAA), determining that the claimant solicitors' firm was not entitled to join an additional duty solicitor scheme. The LAA had erred and it had acted irrationally in its application of the criteria as to when the office had been open and operational.
