R (on the application of Harvey) v Haringey London Borough and another

Pension – Pension scheme. The first defendant local authority's refusal to pay the claimant a survivor's pension following the death of her co-habiting partner was not discriminatory and in violation of art 14 of, read with art 1 of the First Protocol to, the European Convention on Human Rights, as the suggested comparators put forward by the claimant were not in a relevantly similar position. The Administrative Court, in dismissing the claimant's application for judicial review, further rejected the claimant's submission on indirect age discrimination.
