Immigration – Detention. The claimant Pakistani national's immigration detention from 13 July until 28 July 2017 had not been unlawful, as R (on the application of Ahmed) v Secretary of State for the Home Department ([2016] All ER (D) 232 (Mar)) provided a complete answer to his claim. The Administrative Court, in rejecting the claimant's application for judicial review, further held that the defendant Secretary of State's decision to refuse him a residence card had not been tainted by public law errors and she had not been obliged to investigate further the claimant's alleged marriage of convenience before deciding to detain him.
