EU law not precluding national legislation which terminated authorisation to ride mopeds without holding driving licence – . The Court of Justice of the European Union gave a preliminary ruling, deciding that the provisions of Directive (EC) 2006/126 of the European Parliament and of the Council, in particular art 13(2), had to be interpreted as not precluding national legislation, adopted in order to transpose that directive into national law, which terminated the authorisation to ride mopeds without holding a driving licence, the issue of which was subject to passing tests or examinations similar to those required for driving other motor vehicles.
