Contempt of court – Committal. The Chancery Division granted an application by the joint liquidators of a company to commit the respondent former director of the company to prison for contempt of court for alleged breaches of a freezing order. The court held that the respondent had breached the freezing order in a number of respects and sentenced him to a total of 18 months' imprisonment. However, the court held that, in the circumstances, it was not appropriate to make a debarring order against the respondent.
