Child – Parental contact. The appellant mother was successful in her application to, amongst other things, terminate the respondent father's parental responsibility in respect of their eldest child. The Family Division held that in light of the father's history of abuse against the mother, she remained profoundly vulnerable and impacted by the violence inflicted by the father and this consequently had an impact on the children. Accordingly, the balance fell decisively in favour of the father having no contact with the children, for their welfare best interests.
