NHS Business Services Authority v Williams

Pension – Pension scheme. The Chancery Division held that, for the purposes of reg R2 of the National Health Service Pension Scheme Regulations 1995, SI 1995/300, which replaced the normal retirement age of a member as 55 instead of 60 for members employed as a nurse, 'employment as a nurse' captured principally those members who were qualified nurses employed in a nursing job. As the respondent was a nursery nurse, she failed to meet the requirement of being a nurse.
