Personal injury –Health and safety – Liability – Quantum. Court of Session: In an action in which a nurse sought damages in respect of injuries, including a fractured wrist and resulting complex regional pain syndrome, sustained when she slipped on a wet floor in the hospital where she worked, the court held that the defenders were in breach of reg 12(3) of the Workplace (Health, Safety & Welfare) Regulations 1992, and a reasonable figure for solatium would be £40,000; however the pursuer's case that she would have to retire early as a result of being unable to do her job due to her injuries and their long-term effects had not been proved.
