The Court of Appeal, Civil Division dismissed the defendant property company's appeal against a decision by the trial judge that an oral agreement to sell a plot of land was enforceable through proprietary estoppel and constructive trust notwithstanding the absence of a written contract as per s 2(5) of the Law of Property (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1989.
