Employment law – Restrictive covenant – Enforceability – Court's power to sever part of restrictive covenant. Court of Session: In an action in which the pursuers sought interdict against the first defender in order to enforce restrictive covenant provisions in his contract of employment with them, and in which he argued that the 'area covenant' was unreasonably broad and the pursuers did not seek to enforce that part of the covenant provisions, the court held that the covenant the pursuers relied on was severable from the area covenant and was therefore not rendered unenforceable by the area covenant being unreasonably broad.
