Lovelace v R

Sentence – Death sentence. The Privy Council advised Her Majesty that the appellant's appeal against the refusal of his application to extend the time for appealing against his sentencing to death for a conviction of murder should be allowed, as s 48(2) of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court (Saint Vincent and the Grenadines) Act was in violation of para 8 of Sch 1 to the Saint Vincent Constitution Order 1979 insofar as it precluded an extension of time for appeals against the death sentence.
