Shipping – Shipping casualty. The Admiralty Court dismissed the first claimant owners' application for a limitation decree under the Limitation Convention 1976, following the sinking of a cargo vessel. The court held that the vessel had been deliberately sunk by the master and chief engineer at the request of AA, the alter ego of the owners. In the circumstances, the loss of the cargo had resulted from AA's personal act committed with the intent to cause such loss. He had intended the cargo and the vessel to be lost.
