Immigration – Asylum seeker. The Court of Appeal, Civil Division, dismissed the appellant's appeal against the decision of the Upper Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum Chamber) (the UT), dismissing his appeal on asylum and human rights grounds, based on its decision that self-infliction by proxy (SIBP) was the only real possibility for his scars. The UT's assessment had been legitimately open to it and could not be criticised as perverse or irrational, but the UT's guidelines on SIBP should be treated as of no effect.
