Jarrett v Birmingham City Council

Employment – Unfair dismissal. The Employment Appeal Tribunal (the EAT), applying the principle of finality, dismissed the employee's application for permission to amend her notice of appeal, in circumstances where that application had been made late. The EAT also dismissed the employee's appeal against the employment tribunal's dismissal of her unfair dismissal claim on the basis that that dismissal, for misconduct for allegedly working whilst claiming to be off sick, had been fair.
