Misrepresentation – Fraudulent misrepresentation. The Chancery Division made rulings in a claim concerning sums allegedly due for a shipment of vegetable oil. It held that, on the evidence, the first defendant, who was a shareholder in the company that had sought to purchase the oil, was not liable. However, it held that the second defendant, another shareholder, had forged certain documents and would be liable for the sums claimed.
