Solemn procedure – Time bar – Eleven and twelve-month rules. High Court of Justiciary: Refusing an appeal by the Crown against the refusal of its application to further to extend the 11 and 12-month time limits in a case, with a view to deserting the existing indictment and re-indicting to include fresh charges against the first of the seven respondents, the court was satisfied that the judge was entitled to conclude that the Crown had failed to show sufficient reason which might justify the extension.
